Angela’s House, a local non-profit has celebrated the opening of their third medical facility with their annual Arthur and William J. Pace Memorial Golf Outing. Angela’s House, who assists families with medically fragile and technologically dependent children, honored Long Island University Hall of Famer Ron Lupo at the Nissequogue Golf Club in Nissequogue on August 26th, 2013. The beautiful weather provided for a fantastic day of golfing and feasting on a full breakfast, lunch and a famous Pace’s Steak and Lobster dinner. The turnout for the Arthur and William J. Pace Golf Outing resulted in a standing room only banquet dinner.
Throughout the day a video capturing the construction of Angela’s House III in Stony Brook played to celebrate the grand opening of the home. Sponsorships were graciously offered by LJC Dismantling Corporation, Suffolk Federal Credit Union and The Restaurant Association and thanks to their continued community efforts; Angela’s House was able to move children into the new home for the first time on August 21st.
Honoree, Ron Lupo, founder of the title insurance agency Allstate Abstracts in Hauppauge, tragically passed away at age 47 of brain cancer last February. He was a long time supporter of Angela’s House and was well respected and loved in the community. His family and friends were in attendance and were presented with a Guardian Angel Award in his memory.
“The support Angela’s House has received from the Pace family has been invaluable. Jimmy Pace from Pace’s Steak House and the law office of Rinaldo Pace has been generously supporting Angela’s House for the past 10 years. The determination of this family to always help has been critically important to our mission of assisting children that are medically frail.”, said Bob Policastro, Executive Director and founder.

“This was a great opportunity offered to the families and their children. We were graciously offered this great party by the generous owners of White Post Farms.Their family has a medically fragile child and they understands what a family experiences caring for a medically fragile child.” Said Bob Policastro, Executive Director and founder of Angela’s House.
“This was also a great way for parents to meet each other which is a great support in itself. The party was amazing and everyone had a great time. The families deserve to have this type of special day going to the beautiful handicapped accessible White Post Farms, which is one of the top places on Long Island for family fun. They enjoyed the petting zoo, playground, bounce rides and water slides.”
This event was open to all family members and children of Angela’s House and their nurses from 10:30 am until 6 pm either day for no charge. Families were also treated to a lunch and all the other amenities of the farm. Other guests are welcome on either day by paying standard admission fees.
