St. George’s Golf & Country Club

Our June 1, 2009 we had our golf outing at the St. George’s Golf & Country Club which was a hugh success. In a spring that saw a lot of rain we had perfect weather for a great day of golf. St Georges had the coarse set for a great day of golf.

The golfer were treated to several items as they checked in. They were given a beautiful blue golf shirt sponsored by theTom Collins / Chris Panatier 9 – 11 Memorial Foundation. They were also given Angela’s House T shirts sponsored byHoran, Martello, Morrone, PC. Our guests then helped themselves to a breakfast and some practice on the putting green and driving range. The guests were also treated to a free massage from, A Touch of Wellness Therapeutic Center. We had a shotgun start at 12:30 pm with close to 120 golfers. The golfers were later treated to a BBQ lunch at the halfway house.

We had several contests on the course including a Hole-in-One for a trip to Hawaii. Each tee area had the tee sponsors that were able to help us this year.

the golfers returned to the clubhouse the cocktail hour was under way with an open seafood bar. Many of the guests relaxed and enjoyed sitting on the deck over looking the golf course.

The guest were asked to come into the dinning room to enjoy a delicious dinner. We then had a presentation were we presented our honoree Joseph McGovern with a Angela’s House Plague for his support and many years of volunteers work. The guests were touched as they heard from one of our families that has been receiving help from us.

The closing part of the evening was our desert, awards and raffles. We had 3 tables full of some great prizes such as tools, electronics, food and liquor baskets, golf foursomes, spa gift certificates, restaurant gift certificates, sporting event tickets and Flat screen TV’s.

We have a special thanks to our golf committee for all there help: John Caffrey, Doug Demarco, Erin Gibbons, Deniz Gurcan, Ken Hayes, Tom LaCascia, Joe McGovern, Tony Morrone and Sean Tracey. We would also like to thank Nutech Health Care Management for all their support with this event.
