8th Annual Golf Outing

Thanks to a spectacular course, and the help of so many great people, our June 14, 2010 golf outing at Indian Hills Country Club was a great success.

Thanks to generous sponsors, the golfers were treated to several presents as they checked in which included a beautiful green golf shirt sponsored by Capital One Bank, and Angela's House t-shirts which were sponsored by Horan, Martello, Morrone, PC. Furthermore, our guests were given a string tote bag sponsored by BDK Promotional Products Inc, Cigars from SJS Construction, and golf balls from Penske.

To start the events off, our guests were treated to a breakfast Buffet before beginning their practice at the putting green and driving range. The 115 golfers who showed up in support of Angela’s House then began their golf with an 11:00 am shotgun. As a wonderful intermission to the golfing, Indian Hills setup an delicious BBQ lunch at the halfway house for the guests to enjoy.

We had a very exciting Hole-in-One car contest sponsored by Eagle Auto Mall, Riverhead.

The golfers returned to the clubhouse and started their evening with a relaxing cocktail hour complete with delicious Hors d'œuvres sponsored by the Tom Collins / Chris Panatier 9 - 11 Memorial Foundation.

Immediately following the appetizers was a wonderful and eventful dinner. To set the mood for thr rest of the night we had a presentation from our MC Ron Villano is a licensed Psychotherapist Life, Bereavement Coach, National Speaker and Author. Ron spoke about the event he is doing for Angela's House in November called "Embrace the Power of Change".

(Author of the Zing and speaker) I don’t know when the title of the book begins and ends. Bob Policastro from Angela's House presented honoree Deniz Gurcan with an Angela's House plaque to honor his support. Deniz gave a beautiful speech where he explained how he understands the difficult life many of our families face because he himself has to face the same, but shared how it was all worth it because of how much his son has meant to him.

Our Guest Ron Villano put on a different hat as he did the raffle, auction with his jokes and singing mixed in. The raffles were amazing we had golf equipment, tools, electronics, gift baskets, golf foursomes, restaurant gift certificates, sporting event tickets, show tickets and an Ipad.

We give a special thanks to our golf committee for all of their help: John Caffrey, Doug Demarco, Erin Gibbons, Deniz Gurcan, Ken Hayes, Tom LaCascia, Joe McGovern, Tony Morrone and Sean Tracey.
