The boat was full with 60 people for a fun fishing fundraiser. We had perfect weather for a comfortable evening on the boat. The boat, Fishtale left from Captree State Park,www.Fishtale.com. The Captain Chris Altbacker was a great host and he kept everyone busy catching fish all night . This was our 2nd annual fishing fundraiser which would not be possible without the kind offer by Captain Chris and his wife Liz to use their charter boat to help raise money. After Brian and Christine LeMaire´s baby boy Brandon died last October at 19 months, the Islip Terrace couple worried his memory would fade – not from their minds but from their friends´ and the community´s.
Christine LeMaire and about 20 other families who have suffered the death of a child took a step toward keeping those memories alive and in the public eye. They gathered on a warm and sun-drenched morning Friday in Eisenhower Park to break ground for a monument dedicated to children who have died and their families. Read More
